Syndicate 4 (Years 7-8)
Kia Ora from Syndicate 4...
Syndicate Four is made up of 4 classrooms (Rooms 13, 14, 17 and 18) that have students in Year 7 and Year 8. Bernie Harris teaches in Room 13, Kim Hines (Rm 14), Stephen Wood (Rm 17) and Natasha Power (Rm 18).
Syndicate Four is a very vibrant and energetic syndicate. The students have many opportunities to represent themselves, their family and their school in sporting and academic activities. Some of the other exciting activities during the year include an entire Syndicate Dance-off (a yearly competition which take place in front of the entire school) and our own Wearable Arts evening.
Syndicate Four children are very lucky to have 2 exciting camps to look forward to. Our ‘winter’ camp to Hanmer Springs includes abseiling, mountain biking and orienteering (and a rewarding soak in the hotpools). Our ‘summer’ camp is to Kiwi Ranch which is located in the Marlborough Sounds and can only be accessed by launch. This is THE camp. The weeklong camp includes all the sorts of this you’d expect; fishing, kayaking, swimming, but also includes a launch trip to the historic Ship’s Cove, as well as a hike up the spectacular Mount Kahikatea.
High expectations and levels of achievement are expected from the students within Syndicate Four. Superb pedagogical and content knowledge delivered by the teachers, ensures success in traditional academic areas, within a fun and caring environment.
Syndicate Four is truly an exciting syndicate to learn in.
