Education Outside the Classroom
We learn everywhere we go
Apart from regular field trips to our own pieces of paradise e.g. Rocky Shore, Lake Brunner, Brunner Mine, Shantytown, Porter Heights Ski field, Grey Main School has a comprehensive Education Outside the Classroom programme beginning at year 3 with an overnight stay within a half an hour drive from our school.
The programme progresses over the next 6 years in length of stay, difficulty of challenges, areas of study and distance concluding with a 5 day camp to the Marlborough Sounds.
Our students also visit Christchurch and Nelson for overnight stays when participating in competitions such as Cantamaths, Kids Lit Quiz, Choir, Kapahaka Festivals.
