Room 4
Welcome to Room 4...
Room 4 is made up of 11 boys and 12 girls and is a Year 1 and 2 class. Students come to school full of energy and are excited about the learning they are going to do. All students take responsibility for their own things and know that it is not Mum or Dads job to hang up their bag or to put their reading book in their bag.
There is a big focus in Room 4 on Literacy and Numeracy. Students know the rotations and we are all very grateful to the parents that give up their time to come in and listen to us read.
We are lucky enough to have a number of teacher aides working with students both in the classroom and on a one to bases, as well as students that are flourishing with Literacy Listeners and Reading recovery. Although our class can seem like Grand Central Station at times – every student is making very pleasing gains and enjoys hearing and sharing their achievements.
As if being at school isn’t enough – many students take part in outside of school activities as well such as ballet, gymnastics, hockey, football, league, cubs and brownies. This can provide great ideas for their writing.
I hope you have enjoyed hearing about our class and all of the fun and exciting things we do!
